The 3M Ceramic IM70 is specifically engineered to be signal‑safe, meaning its nano‑ceramic particles are spaced to allow radio frequencies used by FASTag, GPS and 5G to pass through without attenuation. Independent tests in Indian traffic conditions show no noticeable drop in tag reading or navigation accuracy after installation. Nano‑ceramic sun films consist of multiple thin layers: a base polyester film, a nano‑ceramic coating that reflects infrared rays, and a top protective layer that resists scratches and UV radiation. The ceramic particles are non‑metallic, preventing interference with RF signals while still providing up to 70 % solar heat rejection. In the hot and sunny Indian environment, the IM70 lowers interior temperatures by 5‑7 °C, reduces AC load and protects upholstery from UV fading. While the IM70 offers excellent IR rejection, its visible light transmission (VLT) is higher than front‑glass films, so glare reduction is modest compared to darker options. Installation requires clean glass and trained technicians to avoid bubbles; a DIY install may compromise performance.
