Saint Gobain NORShield Clear positions itself as a cost-effective entry point into real TPU protection, offering core benefits — scratch resistance, UV defence, and hydrophobicity — without the premium markup. The film is made from thermoplastic polyurethane, a material that combines flexibility with impact resistance, allowing it to absorb minor road debris impacts while maintaining optical transparency. Under Indian conditions, with heavy dust, intense sunlight, and frequent bird droppings, the hydrophobic top coat and UV stabilisers help preserve paint clarity. Self-healing at 40°C means surface micro-scratches can recover during warm days, though you should manage expectations for colder months and heavy contamination exposure.

As an entry-level TPU film, NORShield Clear offers solid everyday protection but won't match the optical clarity or self-healing range of premium-grade PPFs. Self-healing is limited to around 40°C, so cold-weather scratches may persist until ambient temperatures rise. The hydrophobic effect degrades over 6–12 months and will need a fresh coat of ceramic or wax booster to maintain peak beading. Installation quality is critical — any bubble or misalignment will be visible on a clear film, so professional application is strongly recommended.
